THESE THRUST AREAS REQUIRE STATE-OF-THE-ART EXPERTISE IN DISCIPLINES SUCH AS DETECTORS, COMPONENTS, DATA SYSTEMS FOR INSTRUMENTS, LAUNCH VEHICLE OPTIONS AND CAPABILITIES, AIRCRAFT, BALLOONS, IN SITU PLATFORMS, DATA CAPTURE AND PROCESSING, SENSOR WEBS, AND AUTONOMOUS-OPERATION TECHNOLOGIES. ADDITIONALLY, NASA RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENTS (NRAS), BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENTS (BAAS), REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION (RFIS), AND OTHER SOLICITATIONS ARE ISSUED FOR THE VARIOUS PROGRAM AREAS. FY2016 IS LOW DUE TO AIR FORCE SPACE AND MISSILE SYSTEMS CENTER BUDGET CUTS AND THE SITUATION IS EVEN WORSE IN FY2017 WHERE THE CONTRACTOR HAS ZERO BUDGET FOR AUDIT SUPPORT. TRADITIONALLY THE CONTRACTOR SUPPORTS AUDITS AT MANUFACTURERS OF INTEREST TO SMC BUT THERE IS SIGNIFICANT OVERLAP BETWEEN SMCS AND NASAS AEROSPACE COMPONENT INTERESTS. NASA FUNDING FOR CONTRACTOR AUDIT SUPPORT WILL BROADEN THE NUMBER OF MANUFACTURES VISITED BY NASA AND SMC ALLOWING FOR MORE COMPANIES TO BE COVERED EACH FISCAL YEAR BENEFITTING NASAS MISSION. WRITE TECHNICAL OPERATING REPORTS TORS AS NEEDED ON THE AUDIT RESULTS AND SHARE WITH NASA SMC AND DLA. VERBALLY REPORT OUT ON AUDIT AND CERTIFICATION RESULTS AT MONTHLY MEETINGS OR AS DICTATED BY CUSTOMERS WITHIN NASA. SUPPORT AS REQUIRED THE DEVELOPMENT OF AND REVIEW OF ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC AND ELECTROMECHANICAL COMPONENT QUALIFICATION STANDARDS VIA REMOTE AND OR DIRECT PARTICIPATION IN VARIOUS WORKING GROUP AND COMMITTEE MEETINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PARTICIPATE AS PART OF THE GOVERNMENT TEAM TO AUDIT MANUFACTURERS PROCESSES AND PRODUCTS TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED BY DLA.
