THE CONTRACTOR WILL EXPAND THE CURRENT EXTERNAL CAPABILITIES ASSESSMENT PROCESS (ECAP) EFFORT AND WILL CONDUCT AN EXTERNAL BENCHMARKING OF OTHER SECTORS THAT ARE DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGIES OF VALUE TO NATIONAL AERONAUTICS SPACE ADMINISTRATION (NASA) MISSION. NASAS SPACE TECHNOLOGY MISSION DIRECTORATE (STMD) HAS DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY, ITS TECHNOLOGIES AND THE APPLICABILITY OF THESE TECHNOLOGIES TO NASAS CORE MISSIONS, AS IT REGULARLY COLLABORATES WITH COMPANIES, INSTITUTIONS, AND ACADEMIA IN THE FIELD TO ADVANCE THE STATE OF THE ART. STMDS PURVIEW INTO OTHER INDUSTRIAL SECTORS IS MORE LIMITED, HOWEVER, DUE TO CONSTRAINED RESOURCES, YET MANY OF THESE SECTORS NOT LIMITED TO ROBOTICS, HEALTHCARE, ENERGY AND SEVERAL MORE ARE INVESTING IN TECHNOLOGIES THAT ARE DIRECTLY RELEVANT TO NASAS MISSIONS AND COULD PROVIDE VALUABLE PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE AGENCY. |
